The craic is back - Comedy at the Galway Summer Garden

Joe Rooney and Tom O’Mahony to perform at the Comedy KARLnival

JOE ROONEY, a legend of Irish comedy, best known for roles in Father Ted and Killinaskully, and Tom O'Mahony, who has appeared on Damo & Ivor and Bridget & Eamon, will deliver comedy in Salthill tomorrow night.

Galway Summer Garden and Róisín Dubh Comedy present the Comedy KARLnival with Joe Rooney and Tom O’Mahony, and hosted by Karl Spain on Wednesday August 12 from 8pm to 10pm in the Galway Summer Garden, Salthill.

Joe Rooney played the gurrier priest Fr Damo in Father Ted and was the barfly Timmy in Killinaskully. He was voted Best Comedian at the Pure M Awards in 2017 and has headlined venues across Ireland and Britain. He regularly does improv and has guested with Stephen Frost Improv AllStars in Ireland and at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival. Chortle.co.uk said of his mix stand-up and music: “The intensity he puts into his singing and character acting is on another level. His act rolls along smoothly and nothing felt forced…great stand-up and excellent storytelling, full of gags.”
Tom O'Mahony first came to attention as Tarquin the toff on Damo & Ivor, and later as oddball neighbour Paddy d'Pervert in Bridget & Eamon. Since then, he has toured with MTV star Tom Green and Mock The Week regular Tom Stade, and supported Nina Conti, Michael Winslow, Neil Delamare, and Tommy Tiernan. Indeed the late, great, Rik Mayall called him a "psychotically funny bastard".

The Galway Summer Garden is open from 6pm. Tickets are from €15 from www.galwaysummergarden.ie and https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/galwaysummergarden. Full bar and a BBQ or picnic menu is available. Luxury bell tents€ are 25 per person, up to a maximum of eight people per tent.
