Intensive Junior Leaving Cert exam preparation with the French Institute Galway

Online French courses start August 10

The French Institute is Galway’s French language school located in the Bridge Mills since 2005. It has an excellent reputation thanks to the dedication of its teachers who are qualified native speakers with extensive teaching experience.

All secondary school classes have successfully continued during the Covid-19 confinement, through video-conferencing. Students’ feedback is very positive, and many have asked the institute to run similar courses in August.

With these special online intensive courses, secondary school students can be helped to prepare for the next academic year, and more specifically, for their exams. The French Institute proposes a Junior Cert preparation course, for students starting second or third year in September, with a focus on the Junior Cert exam, as well as preparation for the class based assessments. All necessary skills are developed, using the institute's unique notes and sample papers.

The Leaving Cert preparation course is suitable for students going into fifth or sixth year in September, with a focus on the Leaving Cert exam. There is also extensive preparation and practice for the oral examination. However, all other linguistic skills are also developed, using extensive notes and past papers.

These courses offer second-to-none teaching and support by highly knowledgeable and experienced teachers. They will be extremely beneficial to students after their long break from traditional schooling. The classes will take place five mornings/early afternoons a week, for two weeks, starting on August 10.

The French Institute's autumn term starts on the week of September 14, and the institute will as usual offer a great array of courses for adults, teenagers, and children. There will be a mixture of online and in-premises classes, in compliance with the Government guidelines on Covid-19.
