An online exhibition from Oughterard

AKIN Collective artists to display work that response to the research of archaeologist Bill Daly

AIMSITHE (discovered ), the third and final exhibition from the of our Oughterard Courthouse Arts Programme summer series launches online tomorrow, Friday July 24.

The exhibition will feature the work of the County Galway artists collective AKIN, whose members include Jay Murphy, Dolores Lyne, Leonie King, Margaret Irwin and Sioban Piercy. The group has been a significant part of the cultural map of Galway for more than 25 years.

The exhibition had originally been planned as part of the Set In Stone project, selected for the Galway 2020 Small Towns Big Ideas programme. The works featured in AIMSITHE are responses to the research of local archaeologist and historian Bill Daly, who has traced the history of Oughterard back to neolithic times.
