MARY COUGHLAN, arguably Ireland’s greatest jazz and blues singer, will tomorrow, Friday July 24, release her new single, 'Two Breaking Into One’.
Speaking about the single, Mary said: “It’s a song about betrayal. It took me 15 years to feel comfortable with writing this song." 'Two Breaking Into One’ will act as a foretaste of Mary's new album, Life Stories, which is set for release on September 4. The album was mostly written and recorded by Pete Glenister and Mary Coughlan at No Name Studio.
Since her debut album, Tired and Emotional, brought her two nationwide attention in 1985, Mary has recorded 15 further solo albums. She has sold out some of the UK’s most prestigious venues and has toured the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Scandinavia.

Last month, in recognition of Mary’s achievements and immense impact on the culture and arts community in Galway city, the Mayor, Independent Galway City Central councillor, Mike Cubbard presented her with a 2020 lifetime achievement award.
