Galway Ladies to face intermediate champions

All Ireland Intermediate football champions Oughterard have been handed a tough draw in their return to senior football.

In the new draw for the Clareglaway Hotel sponsored championship, Tommy Finnerty's Oughterard must travel to the home of All Ireland senior champions Corofin in group 4A in the opening round. Monivea Abbey complete this group with an opening day bye, while in the other group of three, 4B, An Cheathru Rua host Milltown, with city side St James having a bye.

The remainder of the three groups comprise four teams. In group one, city clubs Salthill-Knocknacarra will open against St Michael's, while An Spideal host Bearna.

In group two Moycullen host Micheal Breathnach, while Mountbellew-Moylough are home to Annghdown in the fight for the top spot.

Group three comprises Tuam Stars who host Caherlistrane on opening day, with Claregalway at home to Killannin.

The top two teams in each of the groups of four will advance to the semi-finals, while group four teams must play off for the available two spots - the winner of 4A facing the runners-up of 4B, and the winners of 4B taking on the runners-up of 4A.
