Popular Galway restaurant group reopens following social distancing revamp

McHugh’s Bar & Restaurant, Peggy's Bar and Restaurant, and Red Gap have reopened this week, offering delicious dining options in newly redesigned premises. All three venues have been restructured to accommodate diners in safety, and adhere to Government guidelines on social distancing.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and evening meals, the three restaurants offer a full menu and have taken extensive steps to ensure customers' safety and comfort.

"We have hand sanitizer inside and out, and floor stickers for social distancing," said Aidan Leonard, who manages the three restaurants. "We have separated the tables for social distancing and we're at 50 per cent capacity. We've also done a lot of work on the outdoor areas. We're encouraging people to book as much as they can, but if we have tables for walk-ins we'll take them."

Peggy's Bar & Restaurant in Aucloggeen, Claregalway, has a large space for comfortable indoor dining, and customers can enjoy a significantly extended outdoor dining area as well.

McHugh's Bar & Restaurant, located on the Tuam Road, has also extended its outdoor area and a one-way queuing system is in place outside the premises to help customers maintain social distancing. Red Gap in Barnadearg has also had a makeover to ensure diners can enjoy a delicious meal while adhering to distancing guidelines.

For those who would prefer to dine at home, all three restaurants are offering a take-out service. Simply call to order, collect, and enjoy your meal.
