Virtual shopping trips online at the trendy Lanidor website have become a popular online get-together for groups of fashion lovers wowed by the vivid styles of the Galway-based store which has now re-opened to the public.
As soon as the lockdown started, Lanidor's owner, Caroline McCarthy hosted virtual shopping on the Lanidor website for groups such as Network Galway but this grew in popularity and eventually, Caroline was regularly hosting groups of women keen to be showcased the latest styles and trends from the popular Portuguese brand.
The store on Eyre Street is the only place in Ireland where you can get the brand, as it is not available in multi-brand department stores. Many people are familiar with Lanidor from holidays to Portugal and Spain and have been bowled over by the quality, style and price-point.
However, now customers from all over the country are benefitting from the choice by taking part in Zoom-style shopping parties with friends.
"This is something we hadn't done before the lockdown but it is something we will definitely keep going because it is a fun way to spend time online with friends and it allows us to make a strong connection with the customers. It is ideal for a hen party or a get together. People can look at the style and I am on hand to answer any questions about style or sizes or colours," said Caroline.
"It is the next best thing to shopping in store. We have had people buying from every corner of Ireland. I think people needed a lift during this time and Lanidor's vivid designs do that," she said, adding that the slogan for the brand is Live Life with Lanidor — an appropriate maxim given the experience we have just come through."
Just one look at the styles in Lanidor and you are filled with the sort of summer energy that we have been crying out for this year. The only Irish store for the much-admired Portuguese brand is located in Galway, but in lockdown, they have had a virtual door open to the world, and re-opened their physical store on Monday 8th June.
