Builin Blasta Café & Bakery launches three of its most popular products in SuperValu!

Builin Blasta Café & Bakery launches three of its most popular products in SuperValu as part of the Food Academy Local Producers food programme.

If you’ve had the chance to eat at Builín Blasta, you already know how delicious their food is and now you can buy a selection of their sauces at selected SuperValu’s and unleash the flavour of your home cooking!

Shoppers across Galway county can now try the (almost ) famous Smoked Onion Mayonnaise from Builín Blasta Café & Bakery. A product that brings a sweet, smoky, creamy element to burgers, steaks, chips and sandwiches- this is a new product that has to be tasted to be believed. Better than it sounds and highly addictive, be warned that adding this to your basket will result in repeat purchases!

Builín Blasta is also launching 2 of their homemade dressings, including a tangy Caesar dressing that packs a punch (as a good Caesar dressing should! ) and a smooth honey & mustard that will make your salad sing. Both dressings, and the mayo too, are versatile staples that will help every home cook, from the beginner to advanced, bring an extra boost of flavour to their food.

All Builín Blasta’s products are handcrafted in small batches in their bakery & café at the Ceardlann Craft & Design studios, 20 minutes outside Galway city on the Wild Atlantic Way. The sauces sit at the heart of the café’s menu and have been developed in line with the café’s ethos of fresh, wholesome, homemade food that feeds the soul.

Heather Flaherty, chef & owner of the café comments “It is now more important than ever to support local business. The SuperValu Food Academy has given us the opportunity to develop and grow our business at a time when innovation and adaptation are essential to surviving the ‘new normal’. We believe in the quality of our products and are absolutely delighted to be able to share them with customers around Galway County.”

Get your Builín Blasta fix at SuperValu’s in Moycullen, Gort, Claregalway, Loughrea, Portumna and Tuam as well as McCambridge’s of Galway and O’Sullivan’s in Oughterard and online onbuilinblasta.ie.

The Food Academy, a joint initiative with SuperValu, Bord Bia and Local Enterprise Offices, supports small producers, farmers and chefs to bring their food to local SuperValu shelves across the country.

Food Academy producers have sold a combined €140m of produce in SuperValu since 2014, supporting 1,500 jobs in the economy. “We started SuperValu Food Academy to support local food start-ups and the programme is more important than ever as we see consumers swing back to support our local food producers. SuperValu's network of independently owned and operated stores across Ireland means that we are best placed to support local food start-ups through SuperValu Food Academy”.

The SuperValu Food Academy programme is now open for applications until Friday 26 June 2020.

Builín Blasta is also open Friday-Sunday for take away hot food, sweet treats & barista coffee from 11-7pm Friday & Saturday and 11-5pm Sunday. The menu changes weekly, check Builín Blasta take-away menu for this week’s offering.
