Fianna Fáil members in Galway have welcomed the decision by the party leader, Michael Martin, to give all members of the organisation a vote in Government formation.
Cllr Mary Hoade has welcomed on behalf of the FF group of councillors on the Galway County Council, of which she is leader. "It is important members have their say," she said. "They are the grassroots of the party who campaign to elect all our Oireachtas members and local councillors."
Following the last General Election, meetings of both Comhairle Dail Ceantairs called for a vote for "all rank and file members". Cllr Hoade said Galway members will also seek to raise a number of issues during Government formation, including broadband, health, agriculture, and education. She said they will also raise the issue of funding for Galway County Council, especially as fears rise over the impact of the post Covid-19 recession.
