The Third Rehearsal release debut single

New instrumental project from Patrick Hallinan and Kevin Donnellan share 'Nothing I Was Thinking'

THE THIRD Rehearsal, the new instrumental project from Galway musicians Patrick Hallinan and Kevin Donnellan, release their new single and video on Friday May 15.

'Nothing I Was Thinking' will be the opening track of the duo's debut album, Two Moons, which is due out in August. Hallinan and Donnellan have been members of such bands as Thinkerrs, Doppler, and Billow Wood, and The Third Rehearsal finds them taking a spiritual, Improvisatory, approach.

The video for 'Nothing I Was Thinking' was shot by Fionn Rogers at the Devil's Chimney, Sligo.

Speaking about the forthcoming album, the duo said: "Two Moons explores the sacred nature of the land. The term 'human' is said to originate from the word 'humus' - of the earth. Music roots us into the ancient and mysterious, down into the soul, where human and earth meet.

"The music first emerged from improvised guitar and violin streams. Then developed through the natural movement of these springs, drawing sonic tributaries together - ambient sounds, keys, electronica, percussion."
