As the majority of us are now working for home during the day and housebound in the evenings, it is vital that we try focus all of our energy on what is important for us to stay healthy - looking after our physical, mental, and immune wellbeing.
Without access to gyms and sports clubs, it is more challenging to stay active but keeping on top of your physical health must remain a priority over the coming weeks.
We must try keep active and mobile, avoid the temptation to sit watching TV all day. A lot of people in the fitness industry are now sharing YouTube and social media videos of home workouts that can be done in your back garden or sitting room
Sleep is a key factor in staying well, avoid late night binges on Netflix if possible and attempt to get eight hours per night.
Keep on top of your nutrition and fluid intake – stick to your normal meal routines to avoid under or over-eating.
It is tempting not to take lunch breaks when working from home, this can be as detrimental to your health and energy so try stick to your normal break times.
It is key to support your mental health during this period not to get lost in the whirlwind of news shared on TV, social media, and chat groups causing anxiety and worry.
Make sure you are only using trusted resources such as the HSE and World Health Organization.
If the overload of information is causing you stress, then only seek information updates at certain times of the day.
If possible, do an online meditation or yoga session to give your mind a much-needed rest.
Finally, we must look after our immunity systems to stay well and fight infections. In recent weeks we have discussed Evergreen's main immunity boosting supplements; echinacea, vitamin D, elderberry, garlic, zinc, and multivitamins.
