Little John Nee headlines new Druid Sessions gigs

Artist to celebrate 60th birthday with a show in The Mick Lally Theatre in June

OLLIE JENNINGS' intimate Druid Sessions concert series, at The Mick Lally Theatre, returns in the summer with the first show headlined by the great Little John Nee on Friday June 12.

Little John, who is 60 this year, will present Tea Dance at the Druid Sessions, accompanied by Fionn Robinson (guitar ) and Peadar Coll (keyboards ). Journalist and activist Eamon McCann described it as "a twinkled-toed, tour-de-force, channelling the spirit of Philomena Begley and Allen Ginsberg, dancing together in Donegal.”

In Tea Dance, a woman is opening a tea emporium in the remote village of Tullyglen, a town full of beatniks,bomb-makers, old hippies, contrarians, suffragettes, and fugitives, a place where everyone has a story and no one wants to tell it. Think Twin Peaks meets Under Milk Wood with a live soundtrack.

Doors are at 8.30pm. Booking is via 091 - 568660 or druid.ie
