TWO OPERAS - Der Fliegende Holländer, starring Bryn Terfel, and Fidelio, starring Jonas Kaufmann - will be broadcast live from New York and London, to The Eye Cinema, Wellpark.
Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer, will be broadcast from The Met Opera on Saturday March 14 at 4.55pm, with Terfel in the title role of the cursed sea captain, doomed to sail the open ocean for eternity. The conductor is Valery Gergiev and the producer is François Girard.
Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio, will be broadcast on Tuesday March 17 at 7.15pm. In this new production from the Royal Opera House conducted by Antonio Pappano, Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as ‘Fidelio’ ) who daringly sets out to rescue him.
