A night of Irish and Slavic music

Singer-songwriter Agu; producer Tony Higgins; and Polish folk band Knot at the Róisín Dubh

AGU, THE Galway-based artist with Czech/Polish roots, joined by the Galway based musician and producer Tony Higgins, will headline an evening of music and song at the Róisín Dubh.

The show will take place in the Dominick Street venue on Thursday March 19 from 8pm, where they will be joined by Polish based trad band, Knot.

Agu sings in Polish, Czech, and English, while her music uses guitar loops and effects, along with rhythmical loops, to create a sound that blends dream-pop, indie-folk, and ambient. Her debut album, Ke Svetlu (Towards the Light ), released under Czech-German label Yannick South, has enjoyed critical acclaim.

Knot are Iweta Kulczycka and Witek Kulczycki, and their music draws on traditional forms of music from Ireland, the Balkans, and more generally, the Slavic countries. They also perform sea shanties.

Admission is free but voluntary donations will be accepted. See www.agumusic.com
