The Galway County Council has adopted new special speed limits for specific housing estates throughout the county at Monday’s monthly meeting at County Hall.
The housing estate slow zones will see a maximum travel speed of 30km per hour for all vehicles with the exception of ambulances, fire brigade vehicles; and An Garda Síochána vehicles.
The estates which will see the new speed limit enforced are; An Mhainistir in Claregalway; Dún Esker/ Slí Esker and Oak Glen in Ballinasloe; Dudley Heights and Lakeview in Glenamaddy; Cabbie Drive and Coole Haven in Gort; The Paddocks in Killimor; Cuan an Óir and Nuns Orchard in Kinvarra; Árd Breeda in Loughrea; Millbrook in Milltown; Árd Aoibhinn in Monivea; Owenriff Park in Oughterard; Cedar Avenue and Forest Glade in Portumna; Cedar Court in Williamstown; and Carraigweir, Cois na hAbhainn, Cricket Court/Fields, Elm Court, Hilltop Close, Lissadyra, and Rivercreest in Tuam.
