Alice Mary Higgins to hold public meeting in Galway tonight

Senator to discuss equality, climate change, public services, and human rights

Alice Mary Higgins, the Independent senator who is campaigning for re-election to Seanad Éireann, will hold a public meeting this evening, discussing issues of equality, climate change, public services, and human rights.

The meeting takes place in The Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street, from 7pm, where she will also talk about her work in the Seanad, and the work she and other members of the Civil Engagement Group, have carried out since 2016.

Senator Frances Black, a member of the Seanad's Civil Engagement Group, who is supporting Sen Higgins for re-election to the NUI panel said: "Alice-Mary is a fantastic advocate for change, She worked tirelessly with me to progress the Occupied Territories Bill, and so many other issues of social justice and human rights. I urge NUI graduates to give her their No 1 vote and keep a vital, progressive, voice in the Seanad."
