EMMA, THE latest screen adaptation of Jane Austin's 1815 novel, starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Johnny Flynn, and Bill Nighy, will have a sensory screening in the Pálás on Sunday March 1 at 10.30am.
The screening will provide a comfortable and calming cinema-going experience for individuals on the autism spectrum, and adults and children with sensory conditions or learning difficulties. There will be low lighting and sound levels; the audience will be able to bring their own food; seating allocation is spaced out if any audience members wish to move around; and assistance dogs are welcome. The bar will be reserved to provide a chill-out space if needed. Staff will be on-hand to provide assistance and support if needed.
Beautiful, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is a restless queen bee without rivals in her sleepy town. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.
The screening is in association with Galway Autism Partnership. Tickets are €7.50, with complimentary tickets for caregivers, and are available from the box office and 091 - 394800.
