The Simon Community, Medecins Sans Frontieres, and the RNLI are the chosen charities to benefit from this year’s Freemasons’ Gala Dinner which will take place in the Clayton Hotel on Thursday March 5 at 7pm.
Freemasons have been part of Galway life since 1733 and are the longest continually meeting club in Galway city and county. The Grand Lodge of Ireland holds four meetings per year and have chosen Galway on this occasion to signal support for the city’s City of Culture 2020 status.
The gala dinner will be preceded by a performance by the Simon Choir, and after the three-course meal there will be traditional Irish music and dance from Ceol na Mara.
All funds raised will go towards the Grand Masters’ festival - Vision 2020, which will see the cumulative total of funds raised from events within this programme distributed between various charities. The charities to benefit this year are the RNLI, Simon Community Ireland, Simon Community Northern Ireland, and Medecins Sans Frontieres.
This is a black tie event. The cost is €45. Tickets can be booked via lodge14.southconnaughtfreemasons.ie/contact htm or by direct payment to Basil Fenton, 9 Clifton Drive, Newcastle, Clifton Drive, Newcastle, Galway.
