Galway Technical Institute (GTI ) will hold its open day on Tuesday, March 3, from 9am to 4pm. The open day is an opportunity for prospective students to explore the GTI campus and check out the state of the art facilities, find out about the exciting courses on offer, and participate in lively events throughout the college. GTI welcomes both school leavers and mature learners who wish to retrain or upskill.
Open day activities and talks are arranged to show how learning takes place at GTI. You will be able to chat with current students and teachers about the courses on offer in each department and get a genuine sense of what makes GTI such a success. The college uses a learning-by-doing approach that moves you from the classroom and into real world experiences.
GTI offers more than 50 courses across 10 departments with new courses at QQI Level 5 launching for 2020/2021. New courses include logistics and distribution, marketing innovation and technology, and auctioneering and estate agency administration. Students will develop skills and competencies for the expanding employment opportunities in the business world.
Progression to third level education is also very strong at GTI with 60 per cent of students being offered places in colleges including NUIG, GMIT, AIDT, LIT, and IT Sligo. NUIG has more than 200 places for QQI students across its five college campuses.
Many students also have the chance to participate in Erasmus+ work placements and competitions in other EU countries as part of their studies. GTI students and staff are looking forward to warmly welcoming you on Tuesday, March 3, on campus at Fr Griffin Road in Galway city. To view the full prospectus and to apply online, visit www.gti.ie
