2 Days of Celebrations at Wholly Cow Burgers

Two days of celebrations kick off this Saturday at Wholly Cow Burgers in Newcastle to mark the restaurant’s 2nd birthday. All weekend, customers of the Newcastle establishment located across from UHG, will be treated to a glass of bubbles, the chance to win a €100 voucher and some extra special treats.

The festivities will run throughout the day across Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd February, with owners Val and Jacinta Lynam ready to celebrate another big year for the family-run business.

The restaurant is proving a big favourite with locals and students and is fast becoming known far and wide for the quality and flavour of its burgers. With a focus on the use of locally sourced, sustainable Irish ingredients cooked in house, it’s no surprise people are responding. Everything is made on site, from the chips which are chipped by hand, and in view, throughout the day, to the sauces and pickles that give a Wholly Cow Burger its distinctive flavour.

Wholly Cow have marked the milestone by recently re-launching their menu with some new additions. Their new Sharing Platters have been causing quite the stir on social media since launching at the start of this month. These platters offer sharing options starting from €22.95, where you can choose your meal for two to include any main, fries and drink of your choice.

Husband and wife team Val and Jacinta Lynam have a passion for food and are meticulous in the choices they have made and continue to make for this business, demonstrating their 35+ years of experience in this industry. Committing their support to local suppliers and a minimal waste philosophy is a conscious choice for the couple, rather than merely a business decision.

Those in hospitality will be very familiar with the couple as the owners and creative directors of Green Olive Catering, a business specialising in weddings and corporate events which has built its reputation with high quality food and innovative menus, again using locally sourced foods. Preferring to always source their ingredients from local suppliers, the business is focused on offering great flavour combinations with a commitment to sustainable practices in all areas of the business.

So far, 2020 is off to a positive start for Wholly Cow, featuring in John & Sally McKenna’s Ireland’s 100 Best Restaurants Guide in the Sunday Times as one of the top seven Saucy Burger Joints in the country. The restaurant also received its third Mc Kennas Guide Best in Ireland plaque for 2020.
