FREDDIE MERCURY was a legend in his own lifetime, and close to 30 years after the Queen frontman's death from AIDS, his legend endures, and he remains one of the most beloved singers in rock.
Queen's music continues to be enjoyed by millions, and be discovered by younger generations. Like The Beatles, Queen have become part and parcel of the fabric of popular culture. Given all this, Queen fans will be making their way to the Town Hall Theatre on Friday February 21 and Saturday 22 to see the popular Irish Queen tribute band Flash Harry, present A Celebration of Queen Live.
Led by the irrepressible Harry Hamilton, who has won acclaim for the energy, enthusiasm, passion, and showmanship he puts into his performances as Freddie Mercury, the band will deliver such classics as 'Radio Gaga', 'We Will Rock You', 'We Are The Champions', 'Who Wants to Live Forever', and of course 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
Flash Harry have been going strong for more than 20 years and have played Belfast's Grand Opera House, Odyssey Arena, and Waterfront Hall; Dublin’s 3 Arena; London's Royal Albert Hall; and headlined the International Queen Fan Club annual convention numerous times. Outside of Flash Harry, Harry Hamilton is also involved in politics, having run for a Westminster seat in 2010 for the UUP, polling 10,639 votes. He later ran for a Stormont seat for the Alliance Party in 2016.
Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are from the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
