Keeping it country in the city is Galway City Macra which is holding an informal get together for new and current members at the Living Room Bar on Friday, April 24, at 8pm.
Macra na Feirme is a voluntary organisation for young people between the ages of 17 and 35. The organisation consists of a nationwide network of clubs with six key areas of activity, sports, travel, public speaking, performing arts, community involvement, and agriculture. Macra is committed to the personal development of members and puts emphasis on social interaction and participation.
There are a lot of misconceptions about Macra being only about farming or for people with a rural background so in an effort to dispel that myth an open evening is being held where people can turn up, meet new people, have a few drinks and nibbles while at the same time finding out what it is all really about.
