Apply online now for PLC courses at Galway Community College GRETB

Galway Community College (GCC ) is now taking applications online for all full-time further education courses at Level 5 and 6, commencing in September 2020. Further education, widely known as PLC courses, are full-time programmes for people who have completed their Leaving Certificate or equivalent recently or in the past, and for adults returning to education or hoping to change their career path.

The courses offered in GCC develop technical and practical skills for an industry recognised qualification. The courses are designed to offer a blended learning approach focusing on technical knowledge and core skills, and all courses include a minimum two weeks' work experience in local businesses and industry.

The college also offers an alternative route to higher education, earning up to 390 CAO points. For some completing a PLC course offers the opportunity to try out a subject of interest.

Situated close to the city centre at Moneenageisha Junction, GCC Further Education College continues to offer a broad range of Level 5 and 6 QQI courses in a variety of disciplines. The courses and modules offered are in line with industry trends in employment and links to higher education. GCC has developed strong links to local businesses with work experience offered in six specialist departments — social care; business and secretarial; graphic design and motor technology; film, music, and theatre; sport and equine; and science and horticulture.

The college is now taking applications for all courses, see www.galwaycc.ie or @GCCFurtherEd on social media.

An open day for all prospective students will take place on Tuesday, March 3, from 9am to 4pm.
