Cash and machete stolen in Newcastle
Gardai are investigating a series of crimes in the city, including one in which a machete was stolen from a home in Newcastle.
The burglary occurred at a house in Greenview Heights in Newcastle on Saturday last between 4.30pm and 12.30pm.
A considerable amount of cash and the machete were taken in the course of the burglary.

Gardai appeal after Athenry pub assault
Gardai in the county are appealing for witnesses to an assault which took place in an Athenry pub at Christmastime.
In the incident, a man was assaulted on St Stephen’s Night in a pub in Laraghmore, Athenry.
The assault happened at about 1.30am in the early hours of December 27 and as a result of the assault, the man sustained injuries.
