SHANE TODD, described by the Belfast Telegraph as "a modern-day king of comedy”, and a true gem of the Northern Irish comedy scene, headlines the Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday.
Todd, from County Down, has been making waves in the comedy scene in recent years, thanks in part to his online sketches on his YouTube channel, in particular with his character, the north Down 'celebrity' Mike McGoldrick, and his podcast, The Shane Toddcast. He also enjoyed five sell-out shows in Belfast’s 1,000 capacity Ulster Hall, and last year performed his show, The Toddfather, in the 2,000 capacity Waterfront Hall.
Also on the bill are Mags McHugh, who enjoyed four star reviews for her two shows at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and whose comedy has been called "inviting and challenging" by Mumble Comedy; and Northern Irish comic Aaron Butler.
The show is on Tuesday January 28. Doors are at 8pm. The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €6 in advance from Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at the door.
