Blackbird & Crow - electric pagan blues

Celtic folk blues, with a punk attitude at the next Eclectics night

DONEGAL DUO Blackbird & Crow, will bring their Celtic folk blues, with a punk attitude, to the next Eclectics gig in the Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street.

The duo of Maighread Ni Ghrasta (vocals ) and Stephen Doohan (guitar/bouzouki ) play Eclectics on Wednesday January 22 at 9pm. They began working together in 2016 and their new album is due out later this year. The Scum Gentry described them as "heavy folk-rock...with vocals that growl with righteous fury", while Broadsheet.ie called them, "electric pagan blues...with a meaty slide guitar riff that would have the ghost of Rory Gallagher doing the duckwalk".

Support is from A Ghostly Lunar, a new solo project from Phantom Dog Beneath The Moon's Aaron Hurley. Admission is €10.
