A Christmas KARLnival with Pat McDonnell

Bob Hennigan, Ian Burke, and Amy Walsh complete the bill at the Róisín Dubh

PAT MCDONNELL has gone down in Irish comedy legend as the Daniel O'Donnell spoofing Eoin McLove on Father Ted, but it should never be forgotten that he is also one of Ireland’s most accomplished and respected stand-ups.

McDonnell headlines the Christmas Comedy KARLnival in the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday December 17 at 8pm. He has also appeared on such popular TV shows as Moone Boy and Naked Camera, and written and performed for the acclaimed The Savage Eye. Chortle.co.uk described him as delivering "an impressive and persuasively tub-thumping performance”.

Also on the bill is Bob Hennigan, once described as “Mayo’s most charming ball of misery”, and declared as "the most criminally underrated comedian in the country” by The Irish Times. He is the resident MC of the highly-acclaimed Ireland’s Smallest Comedy Club, and is a winner of the Tedfest Toilet Duck Award and 2015 Galway Comedy Award.

Support is from the bow-tie sporting Ian Burke, who specialises in witty one liners and dark humour, and Amy Walsh, a Show Me The Funny finalist, who also made her Vodafone Comedy Carnival debut earlier this year.

The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €6 in advance from Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at the door.
