Fahy Travel to host coffee morning for Galway Simon Community

Fahy Travel, Bridge Street, Galway, will host a Christmas coffee morning in aid of Galway Simon Community tomorrow, Friday, from 9.30am to 12 noon. All are welcome to join the team at Fahy Travel to have a chat and a cuppa while supporting a very worthy local cause, especially at this time of the year.

Galway Simon Community is a local homeless charity which provides support and accommodation services to people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. The charity was established in 1979 by a group of NUIG students who refused to accept homelessness on the streets. Since then, with the help of its staff, volunteers, and supporters, the charity has grown to become one of leading providers of homeless services and homelessness prevention services in the region.

Maura Fahy, director, Fahy Travel, said: “We are big supporters of Galway Simon, we can see daily on our streets how homelessness has affected so many in the community, and unfortunately it can easily happen. You just don’t know. And with temperatures dropping rapidly it is important that the homeless community get a bed and a warm dinner to keep them safe. We hope to see many of our customers and neighbours on Friday morning for a coffee and mince pie and make as much as we can for Galway Simon.”

Galway Simon Community supports people's right to security, dignity, and wellbeing in their own homes. The charity has a clear vision in mind — a community where everyone has a place to call home.

Join Fahy Travel on Friday for the Christmas coffee morning in aid of Galway Simon Community to help give everyone a home this Christmas season and in to 2020.
