People Before Profit Galway will be hold a general knowledge table quiz in aid of St Joseph's Special School, Thomas Hynes Road, Newcastle, on Wednesday December 11 at 8pm.
The school has more than 70 pupils with special needs, and 50+ staff and volunteers working to support them. “The staff and volunteers are doing amazing work to encourage the growth and development of these pupils," said PBP Galway’s General Election candidate Joe Loughnane, "but are not getting any kind of funding from the Government to help provide a playground and things for the children to play with and explore during their lunch breaks. St Joseph’s is stretched to the point where it cannot provide the funding for this. PBP Galway want to try and help, and this fundraiser is a good place to start.”
The quiz takes place in The Sliding Rock pub. Entry is €40 per table of four. There will be a raffle and finger food. All are welcome.
