SINÉAD O'CONNOR will round off the final weekend of the Galway International Arts Festival when she headlines the Big Top in the Fisheries Field on Sunday July 26 2020.
Following a four year hiatus from performing, Sinéad O’Connor returned to the stage last year. In October, she played two intimate shows at the Róisín Dubh, to great acclaim from local audiences. The shows came on the heels of an emotional interview on The Late Late Show during which she delivered a powerful rendition of ‘Nothing Compares 2 You’.
Sinead first came to attention in 1987 with the single, 'Mandika' and the album Lion and The Cobra, while 1990 saw her classic, and definitive cover of Prince's 'Nothing Compares 2 U'. She has released 11 albums and her music has embraced rock, pop, reggae, folk, and alternative.
The Pixies concert on July 17 became the fastest selling show in the festival's 43 year history. Due to phenomenal public demand, an extra date was announced this week, with the legendary indie/alternative-rock quartet playing Thursday 16 July as well.
Both concerts are 'Galway International Arts Festival and Róisín Dubh present...' events. Tickets are available via www.giaf.ie from tomorrow [Friday December 6] at 9am (Sinéad O’Connor tickets are €49.50, Pixies tickets are €52.50 ).
