O’Donnellan & Joyce shortlisted in the Property Industry Excellence Awards

O’Donnellan & Joyce of 5 Mary Street, Galway, has recently been shortlisted for the 2019 Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards in the category of regional excellence.

The Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards recognise the highest standards of professionalism and excellence across the property sector and provide an opportunity for the Irish property industry and all of its stakeholders to showcase their expertise and standards globally.

O’Donnellan & Joyce is the pioneer of the Wild Atlantic and Nationwide series of property auctions. With the competition for these awards being extremely high, the nominees are a strong mix of industry players. O’Donnellan & Joyce is thrilled to have been selected from some 90 entrants nationally following a rigorous adjudication by a high profile national judging panel chaired by Professor Brian Norton, president of Dublin Institute of Technology.

Colm O’Donnellan of O’Donnellan & Joyce says: “We are honored to be shortlisted along with the other finalists in this category. Just being recognised for our achievements and the standards we set in the property market, is a great accomplishment in itself.

"We feel this nomination contributes massively to the growing confidence in O’Donnellan & Joyce’s auction division and private treaty sales department in the west of Ireland’s property market. Our valuations department is recognised by all national and international financial institutions and is acknowledgment of the great team spirit that operates throughout our company.”

Established in 1982 in Galway by Colm O’Donnellan and Tony Joyce, O’Donnellan & Joyce is known for building a team of highly motivated property agents and auctioneers who deliver a high quality and professional property service. Boasting an in-depth knowledge of the west of Ireland’s property market, the 'Nationwide' auction division has grown extensively alongside the private treaty sales division since January 2014 when O’Donnellan & Joyce was the first regional based auctioneers to hold all-day property auctions outside of Dublin. Over the last years, the company has continued to expand its service with the addition of phone, proxy, and now internet bidding services available at its 'Nationwide' property auctions which take place seven times a year.

Since its foundation, O’Donnellan & Joyce has built a loyal client base in Galway, the west of Ireland and. in more recent years, nationally. Recognised for the service and support it offers to clients, both new and existing through expert knowledge, balanced view, and realistic approach to valuations, the demand for its auction service has grown steadily from Donegal to Kerry, all along the Wild Atlantic Way, and more recently across the eastern seaboard as the firm takes on the big players on the east coast.

The advancement of technology and in particular live streaming of their ‘Nationwide’ property auctions and introduction of the internet bidding platform has led to a growing international client base. O’Donnellan & Joyce has generated a €40 million in auction property sales in 2019 to date. The increased profile and national media recognition of O’Donnellan & Joyce has positioned the auctioneers as a national and regional commentator in the property sector, such is the company’s success for its clients.

The awards programme has been established as a partnership among all property industry stakeholders and endorsed by all professional bodies and representative groups, including KPMG, Pinergy and Eugene F Collins. Ten categories are judged, including Commercial Agency of the Year, Property Entrepreneur of the Year and Regional Agency of the year, the category on which O’Donnellan & Joyce are being judged.

The winners of each category will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner at the National Convention Centre, Dublin on Thursday November 28.

The final ‘Nationwide’ property auction of 2019 is Friday December 13.
