Tuam Stadium is to receive €89,717 under the regional allocation of Sports Capital Grants. Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney has welcomed the grant as “a great result” for the north Galway region.
This current allocation will be used for ongoing works in upgrading the facilities, and brings the Sports Capital Grant funding for the stadium to more than €200,000, following a grant of €111,500 in 2017.
“Tuam Stadium is the centre of football in Galway and the fantastic atmosphere generated in the recent county final and replay, along with the Connacht championship match against Ballintubber, underlines its importance,” said Minister Canney. “These grants are vital to ensure we have the best facilities possible to host inter-county matches.”
