Toyota's latest light commercial vehicle, the Proace City, is set to arrive here for the second half of 2020, according to the company.
The Proace City will come in a number of variants, which Toyota Ireland says will allow customers to choose their bespoke van to suit their needs. It will be available as a short or long wheelbase panel van, and with a choice of two or three seats in the front cabin.
Capacity is 3.7m³ on a short wheelbase and 4.3m³ on a long wheelbase. The Proace City can also accommodate two euro pallets in both lengths, and the asymmetric rear doors make loading simple. Towing capacity is 1,500kg, with a payload of up to 1,000kg.
Power will be delivered via a diesel powertrain with a choice of 75hp and 100hp, and combines low CO2 and is highly fuel efficient.
Standard features include a full metal bulkhead, driver and passenger airbag, and sliding side door. With options on various grades, the Proace City comes with reversing sensors, smart load indicator, air conditioning, and an upgraded infotainment system.
Steve Tormey, chief executive of Toyota Ireland, says Proace City will attract new customers.
"We are delighted to extend our commercial offering into the LDV segment with the introduction of the new Proace City, designed for practicality and including best-in-class features. This is an opportunity to deliver Toyota models to a broader market and offer more choice for our commercial customers. The customer is at the heart."
