Recalling The Celtic Tiger book launch

Charlie Byrne's to host launch of essay collection edited by Eamon Maher, Eugene O’Brien, and Brian Lacey

RECALLING THE Celtic Tiger, a collection of essays examining that controversial era of the Irish economy, will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop this evening at 6.30pm.

Edited by Eamon Maher, Eugene O’Brien, and Brian Lacey, and published by Peter Lang, it traces the critical pathway from boom to bust - and up to the current beginnings of a similar, smaller, boom - through events, personalities and products. The various entries, written by broadcasters, economists, cultural theorists, sociologists, literary critics, journalists, politicians, and writers, offer a sense of the lived experience of this seismic period in contemporary Irish society.

The guest speaker will be Dr Sean Crosson of NUI Galway. All are welcome.
