Game week 10 of the 2019/2020 Premier League season will be remembered for one thing; Southampton 0 - 9 Leicester City. Yes Brendan Rogers' charges equalled a Premier League record on Friday night as they eviscerated the 10-man Saints in front of their home faithful.
Elsewhere, Frank Lampard's young guns continue to thrill as they recorded their seventh straight win in all competitions with a 4 - 2 success over Burnley at Turf Moor. Arsenal's mental weakness was once again exposed as they threw away a two goal lead against Crystal Palace at the Emirates to draw 2 - 2 and Liverpool managed to overcome a stubborn Spurs side to secure another three points and maintain their unbeaten record this season.
The final whistle at Anfield also brought the conclusion of October which means it is time to the name the Advertiser Tribal League's Manager of the Month in association with Monroe's Tavern.
Manager of the Month: October
Drums rolls please, and our Manager of the Month for October is Rob Gardiner - It doesn't bother me - 210.
Football is a team game but without captain Jamie Vardy, Rob Gardiner and his boys would have been in a lot of bother. With four goals and an assist in the three game block, the striker garnered 60 Fantasy points for It doesn't bother me. Other standouts for Gardiner were Ayose Pérez and Jack Grealish who picked up 26 and 21 points respectively. With a midfield and forward line that are scoring goals, a top quality defender or two could see It doesn't bother me bothering the top sides in the table.
Congratulations to Rob who wins a matchday special burger or wings and a pint courtesy of Monroe's Tavern.
Top tips
It is a new month and it is the final game week before the season's third international break so who are the players who are going to put a smile on Fantasy managers this weekend?
Jamie Vardy (Leicester City - £9.3 million ) v Crystal Palace
Normally a game between Crystal Palace and Leicester City being broadcast live would bring a roll of the eyes from many neutral supporters but this season that is certainly not the case. The Eagles are in sixth with Leicester sitting pretty in third spot ahead of Sunday's clash in southwest London. One of the main reasons for Leicester's superb run is their number nine Jamie Vardy. The England international has scored six goals in his last four league outings, including a hat-trick during last week's 9 - 0 demolition of Southampton. I believe this clash will be a high scoring draw with Vardy marking his mark on the scoresheet. Get him in your team.
Marcus Rashford (Man United - £8.4 million ) v Bournemouth
Four goals in his last three matches including an absolute stunner to win the EFL Cup tie against Chelsea sees Marcus Rashford as hot property. The striker has struggled along with his teammates this season but has hit a nice bit of form as the games start to come thick and fast. On Saturday lunchtime, United make the long trip south to face Bournemouth. Eddie Howe's men are without a win in their last four games and I cannot see that changing this weekend. United will win with Rashford helping himself to a goal or two.
Sergio Agüero (Man City - £12.1 million ) v Southampton
The Argentine hitman may be one of the most transferred out players this game week by Fantasy Managers but I am telling all of you to hold the faith in 'Kun' Agüero. He may have gone three Premier League without troubling the scorekeepers but Man City's number 10 did grab a brace of goals against Atlanta in the European Cup last week and another two in his side's EFL Cup victory over Southampton on Tuesday. And it is Southampton again the champions will face this weekend. Quite frankly it has been a week to forget for the Saints as they were smashed 9-0 by Leicester last Friday and then were knocked out of the cup by City. It will be a comfortable home win with Agüero ending his mini league goal drought. Make him captain for double the points.
