Aidan Dooley brings Tom Crean - Antartic Explorer back to the Town Hall Theatre

ONE OF the most acclaimed and popular Irish theatre shows of the last 20 years, Tom Crean - Antartic Explorer, returns to the Town Hall Theatre this month.

The show, written and performed by Aidan Dooley, explores the life of the County Kerry adventurer who accompanied both Sir Ernest Shackleton and Robert Scott, on their Antarctic explorations.

In dramatic, often humorous, style, Dooley, as Crean (1877 - 1938 ) will relate true stories of Crean’s experiences on Scott's Discovery (1901-1904 ) and Terra Nova (1910-1913 ) expeditions; and Shackleton's Endurance expedition (1914-1916 ).

The show has won numerous awards and been showered with critical acclaim. "A charming, funny, perfectly pitched account of an ordinary man who helped to turn the wheels of history," said The Scotsman, while the Sunday Independent called it “a remarkable and uplifting piece of theatre”.

Tom Crean - Antartic Explorer is on Monday November 11 at 8pm. For tickets contact 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie See also www.tomcreanshow.co.uk
