Nuala Kennedy to open new trad gig series in Athenry

Concerts to take place in The Town Cafe

THE FIRST show in the new Music in the Town Concert Series for Athenry, takes place this weekend and will feature internationally renowned singer, flautist, and composer Nuala Kennedy.

From Louth, Nuala Kennedy has been described as "a singer, flute player, and composer of remarkable finesse, fearless of the unknown” by The Irish Times. She has toured and recorded with American indie-folk singer-songwriter Will Oldham (akak Bonnie Prince Billy ), as well as Gerry O'Connor, and the late Canadian composer Oliver Schroer.

Kennedy will be joined by the host of the concert series, violinist Anna Falkenau. The show takes place this Saturday at 5.30pm in The Town Cafe, Athenry. Admission is €10/8/5. Children under six go free The event is family friendly.
