Tom O'Mahony - Defending The Caveman

Comedian to star in Rob Becker’s celebrated show about the battle of the sexes

DEFENDING THE Caveman, Rob Becker’s celebrated theatre show, mixing stand-up comedy, lecture, and therapy session, is an attempt to resolve the battle of the sexes, is coming to Galway.

Written by the American actor and comedian Rob Becker, and starring popular Irish comic Tom O'Mahony, Defending The Caveman is at the Town Hall Theatre on Friday November 1 at 8pm.

The longest running one-man show in Broadway history, and an Olivier Award winner for ‘Best Entertainment’ in 2000, it asks why do some men greet each other with insults? Why does it take women so long to get ready? Why can’t men talk about their feelings? The show attempts to celebrate and reconcile difference.

Tom O'Mahony has been called a "psychotically funny bastard" by the late, great, Rik Mayall, while comedian Nina Conti declared him as "fantastic". He first came to attention as the toff Tarquin on Damo & Ivor. He has since appeared on Bridget & Eamon, Republic of Telly, and Irish Pictorial Weekly, and supported Tom Green, Mock the Week's Tom Stade, Jason Byrne, and Tommy Tiernan.
