COLIN STAFFORD-Johnson, the Emmy award winning Irish cinematographer, whose works has been seen on the BBC's Animal Babies: First Year on Earth and RTE's Wild Ireland - Edge of the World, is coming to the Town Hall Theatre.
Stafford-Johnson is coming to Galway to talk about his work and his experiences exploring Ireland's western seaboard in his new show, My Wild Atlantic Journey, which is on Wednesday October 23 at 8pm.
Stafford-Johnson grew up on the east coast of Ireland, spending his childhood exploring local woods, rivers, and hills, and later studied biology and film-making at university. He has since become one of the most awarded cameramen in the industry. He has won an Emm and received awards at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and WWF Golden Pandas at Wildscreen.In 2018, his documentary, Wild Ireland - Edge of the World, won the Grierson Award for Best Natural History Film. He also filmed arctic foxes and sea otters for the BBC's Animal Babies, which was broadcast during the summer.
