Johnny Cash’s grandson to play Monroe’s Live

Thomas Gabriel to perform hios own songs, as well as those by The Man In Black

THOMAS GABRIEL, eldest grandchild of Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash, and a country and Americana singer-songwriter in his own right, returns to Galway this month to play Monroe's Live.

Thomas Gabriel was predominantly raised on the road, and spent his childhood on tour with June and Johnny Cash. When he was young, his grandfather would call him onstage to sing, which helped to nurture his interest in performing. Thomas' own music has earned comparisons to Steve Earle and Townes Van Zandt.

For the Monroe's show on Sunday October 27 at 10pm, Thomas will be joined by a band of leading Nashville musicians, to perform a mix of his own songs and some of his grandfather's. He will also share stories and memories of his childhood and growing up as a member of the Cash/Carter family.

Ticket are €8, including booking fee at monroes.ie, or €10 on the door.
