Silver Jews tribute at Róisín Dubh

In memory of the late David Berman, a fundraising gig for the charity Aware

IN AUGUST, David Berman, the vocalist, songwriter, and leader of the band Silver Jews, took his own life. In his memory, and to raise funds for charity, a show takes place this weekend at the Róisín Dubh.

The Songs of the Silver Jews: A tribute to David Berman, is on this Sunday at 8pm. It will feature performances by Tuam indie-rock/pop-punk act So Cow, and Galway based indie-folk singer-songwriter Yawning Chasm.

In May 2008 the Silver Jews played a memorable gig at the Róisín. Berman's music straddled indie-rock, country, and Americana, he was also a much admired poet.

The show is presented by Trusted Trail. Admission is €10 and all proceeds will be donated to Aware, which provides support and information for people who experience depression or bipolar disorder, and their concerned loved ones. See www.aware.ie
