THE REIGNING Miss Burlesque Ireland winner, Bella Curve, and one of Ireland's leading comedians, Paul Currie, take to the stage of the Town Hall Theatre for The Dirty Circus' Halloween Extravaganza.
The Dirty Circus' biggest show of 2019 is on Sunday October 27 at 8.30pm, as part of the Vodafone Comedy Carnival. Bella Curve is a classically trained ballerina who traded her tutu for tassels. Performing burlesque since 2016, her work fuses a number of dance styles. She was a runner-up in the 2017 Belfast Burlesque Festival – Newcomer night, before winning Ms Burlesque Ireland this year.
A favourite of Galway audiences, Paul Currie mixes sketch, absurdism, mime, and puppetry, delivered with great physicality and energy, often without the comic uttering a single word. The Skinny called him “unique and utterly original"; Edinburgh Fringe Guru called him "the Monty Python version of stand up comedy"; while Stewart Lee said, "Paul Currie was my favourite show of the Fringe”.
Also on the bill are burlesque artist Memphis Shell; Canadian comedy star Mike Wilmot; Italian born, Galway based, singer Barbara Vulso; and travelling show girl Dee Keavney; while debutante Helen Tooke is expected to bring some wild fire to the proceedings. The MC will be drag king Phil T Gorgeous. There will be prizes for the best dressed audience members.
