Brave Giant - debut album, Róisín gig

White, Pink + Blue is out now. Band play Galway this Saturday

WHITE, PINK + Blue, the debut album from Irish indie-folk band Brave Giant has just been released, and this weekend they will be in Galway to play the Róisín Dubh.

The Longford band - Emmett Collum (percussion ), Mark Prunty (bass, guitar/vocals ), Podge Gill (guitar/vocals ), Ross McNerney (banjo/mandolin/keys ) - play the Róisín on Saturday October 12 at 8pm.

White, Pink + Blue features 12 tracks, including the singles 'Decorate Your Mind', described by Hotpress as "anthemic and propulsive as it is dark and atmospheric", and which went Top 3 in Ireland in July, and 'Wizards and Witches' which came out last month. The album was produced by Gavin Glass, who has described thee album as "like David Guetta meets The War On Drugs”.

For his part, Emmett Collum says, "We’ve explored new sounds and have drawn on influences from even more musical genres. Heavy synths, spacey guitars, driving drums, and a mandolin like you’ve never heard before. The core elements which make Brave Giant what it is are still there, we’ve just added some magic, we hope!”

Podge adds: “We can’t wait to share this body of work. The album sees us take a new direction and we believe we’ve developed a great deal musically and lyrically in the last three years.”

The band have played the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in Lahinch, the Kaleidoscope Festival, Indiependence, the Day Tripper Festival in Waterford, as well as sold-out headline shows in Dublin's The Button Factory. They have also enjoyed more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify.

Tickets are available from www.roisindubh.net; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and the Róisín Dubh.
