BROTHER DEGE, the American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for his Grammy nominated track ‘Too Old to Die Young’ from Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, is coming to Galway.
Brother Dege plays the Róisín Dubh on Sunday October 13 at 8pm. The Louisiana native's music mixes otherworldly slide guitars, rustic psychedelia, roots, and swamp-drenched blues.
He is the winner of the Louisiana Press Award in 2004 and 2008, while his 2010 album, Folk Songs of the American Longhair, was described by Quentin Tarantino as “almost like a greatest hits album” of new Delta blues. His latest album is the critically acclaimed Farmer’s Almanac, a Southern gothic journey exploring escapism, class structure, and the dark side of small town America.
Support is from Galway guitarist Tom Portman. Tickets are available from www.roisindubh.net and at the door.
