The Met Opera returns to The Eye

Puccini's Turandot to open a new season of New York operas broadcast live to Galway

PUCCINI'S TURNADOT, the classic opera about a prince who must solve three dangerous riddles in order to win the heart of a princess, opens The Met’s 2019/2020 season.

Turandot, led by French-Canadian conductor and pianist Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will be broadcast from The Met, New York, to The Eye Cinema, Wellpark, this Saturday at 5.55pm.

This season of Met screenings include five new productions and five revivals, including Manon, Akhnaten, Porgy and Bess, and Tosca, and include ‘behind the scenes’ segments with live interviews with the cast, crew, and production teams. There will also be ‘encore screenings’ of Turandot (Wednesday October 16 ) and Madama Butterfly (Wednesday November 13 ) at 11am.
