Round seven of the Premier League drew to a close on Monday night as Arsenal and Man United battled out a 1-1 draw in Manchester. The previous two days' action saw Liverpool maintain their perfect start to the campaign, with Leicester maintaining their great beginning to the term by putting five past a hapless Newcastle side.
The final whistle at Old Trafford also brought the conclusion of September which means it is time to the name the Advertiser Tribal League's Manager of the Month in association with Monroe's Tavern.
Manager of the Month: September
Drums rolls please, and our Manager of the Month for September is: Marcus Quinn - Summer Toilet - 223.
Contrary to the name, Marcus Quinn's charges' September did not go down the toilet as Summer Toilet were the best performing side in the Tribal League for the month of December. It was the deadly duo of Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front that were the main men for Quinn as they managed six goals between them over the three game weeks with Kevin De Bruyne and Mason Mount providing the assists from midfield.
Congratulations to Marcus and The Bogs who wins a matchday special burger or wings and a pint courtesy of Monroe's Tavern.
Top picks
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal - £11million ) v Bournemouth
The Gabonese striker has scored seven goals in seven games and he looks like he is not going to be slowing down anytime soon. Aubameyang and Arsenal invite Bournemouth to the Emirates on Sunday and while Eddie Howe's men are sitting in eighth position, one point off the top four, their defence has been porous with 12 goals conceded so far and no clean sheets. I believe Sunday will result in another clean sheet failure with Aubameyang being the man to get his name on the scoresheet.
Andriy Yarmolenko (West Ham - £6million ) v Crystal Palace
The Ukrainian midfielder has recent form has coincided with the Hammers improvement in performances and results. Three goals in four games has seen Yarmolenko's stock rise as Fantasy managers sign him up for this weekend's action. On Saturday evening, Manuel Pellegrini's men host Crystal Palace at the London Stadium. The Spurs thumping aside, the Eagles are soaring at present. I expect this to be one of the matches of the weekend with plenty of goals being scored and Yarmolenko will be among them.
John McGinn (Aston Villa - £5.8million ) v Norwich City
One of the most exciting performers for the Premier League new boys has Scottish international John McGinn. The midfielder has been a wonderful creative spark for the villians and has now added a few goals to his tally, finding the back of the net against Arsenal and Burnley. On Saturday afternoon Villa travel to East Anglia to take on Norwich at Carrow Road. The Canaries have been exciting this season with goals at both ends but two wins and five losses suggest Daniel Farke should tighten up at the back. There will be goals on Saturday and McGinn will be in the thick of it.
