Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles gave Irish debuts to their new Transporter 6.1 van and the new Grand California camper last week.
This latest version of the Transporter features a new design, and comes with new technology, including a redesigned instrument panel. There is also a new electro-mechanical power steering, enabling the use of active steering assistance systems, which VW says will allow the possible use of other technologies such as lane assist, park assist and trailer assist.
Volkswagen says it has a towing capacity of up to 2,500kg and the Transporter 6.1 now gains the added benefits of the ‘We Connect’ online connectivity, which opens up a new spectrum of web-based services and functions.
The new Volkswagen Grand California was shown to the Irish public for the first time. It is a bigger addition to the California range, based on the Crafter, and offering even more space and creature comforts.
