Edwin Sammon headlines Comedy KARLnival

Fiona Malone, James Nolan, and Alex O'Connor are also on the bill

EDWIN SAMMON is best known for his role as Fr Gabriel in the award winning Bridget and Eamon, now in its fourth season, and as the co-presenter of RTÉ's Republic Of Telly.

Over the last decade, the Offaly man has firmly established himself as one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the country, winning the 2011 Tedfest Best Comedian Award, and supporting Jason Byrne, Phill Jupitus, and Ardal O'Hanlon. Galway will have another chance to see why when he headlines the Róisín Dubh's Comedy KARLnival this Tuesday at 8pm.

After studying to be an engineer for 10 years, Kilkenny's Fiona Malone switched to stand-up comedy. Since then she has played the Vodafone Comedy Festival at Iveagh Gardens, Dublin, and she hosts the podcast, NextGenFem. When it comes to the comedy of James Nolan, be prepared for audience scribblings before the show which will become the punchlines of his set.

Support is from Alex O'Connor. The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €6 in advance from Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at the door.
