New paving and a bus shelter are badly needed at the bus stop near the old bridge on the Old Dublin Road on the Rosshill Road, in Roscam, according to Independent councillor Terry O’Flaherty.
Cllr O’Flaherty says the Rosshill Road bus stop “is erected in a ditch” where there is “no paving or a bus shelter” and no footpath on the side of this “very busy road”.
Parents in the Rosshill area have informed Cllr O’Flaherty that on wet days their children often arrive to school “rain soaked due to the wet surface in which they have to stand coupled with the rain dropping from the overhanging trees where the bus stop is located”.
Cllr O’Flaherty has contacted the Galway City Council and it has assured her it will install a hard surface at the bus stop shortly.
