Colourful Fine Gael TD Michael Ring will launch the election campaign of the party’s Oranmore candidate Eamon Fox in Grealish’s of Carnmore on Friday April 17 at 9pm.
Mr Fox will join Cllr Jarlath McDonagh and Michael Eames on the ticket and Fine Gael is confident it can do well in the ward, especially given Cllr McDonagh’s years in the senate and that Sen Fidelma Healy Eames is also from the area.
His campaign priorities will be sustainable development and improved amenities for local communities; addressing the development needs of local schools; proper management and repair of local roads; fairer water charges for farmers; and improved access for local contractors to public projects.
Mr Fox also wants to see that “ local residents are told the truth about the Claregalway bypass” and that there is “full and meaningful consultation with the local community” regarding the proposed gas turbine power station at Lisheenkyle.
Mr Fox is self-employed running a small artisan food business. He is actively involved in the Claregalway farmers’ market and is also an agri-contractor. His family have a long history of involvement in the local GAA club and other community organisations.
